Miyuki Tilas are those little square, flat beads sporting two holes each. (Not to be confused with the newly-emerging Preciosa Twin beads, which also boast two holes).
This past week I published three new designs that use them, one fringey necklace and two bracelets. Each adapts a typical off-loom beading stitch for use with two-hole beads.
The necklace uses basic vertical netting from a base row:
The first bracelet is a simple pattern perfect for beginners. It features single-needle ladder stitch:
The second bracelet also uses ladder stitch, but is a little more complex. For best results, you’ll need to tie one or two half-hitch knots along the way to help maintain your thread tension:
